DJing, circus skills and more for young people at fun day

YOUNGSTERS will have the chance to train as a DJ, try circus acts and ride a rodeo bull at the Phoenix Youth Project’s second fun day next month.
The club said their first Fun For All Day last year was a huge success and hundreds of people attended.
The event, on Saturday August 9, will be held in Cleator Moor Market Square and inside Cleator Moor Civic Hall.
Paul Rowe, from the project, said: “The day aims to inform young people and the community about the services and activities on offer in Cleator Moor and the surrounding areas.
“The day will provide the opportunity to celebrate the local area whilst bringing the generations together to have fun and mix while generating publicity for all involved.”
This year there will be a mobile climbing wall, DJ workshops, a mobile disco, circus acts, healthy eating initiatives, a rodeo bull, bouncy castle, inflatable slides, bar fly, an obstacle course and much more.
Youngsters at the Phoenix Youth Project in Frizington and Cleator Moor have helped to plan the event and will be helping on the day.
In turn they will be gaining ‘rewards for actions’ points which will be later cashed in for a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and an educational visit to France both in August.
Funding for the day has come from Cleator Moor town council and both Arlecdon & Frizington and Cleator Moor’s Joint Neighbourhood Forums
The event is free and there will be a small charge for refreshments.
The Phoenix Youth Project is always looking for more community support and volunteers. For further details please contact Paul Rowe, Youth Development Officer of The Phoenix Youth Project on 01946 814555.
