A CHEQUE for £1,000 has been presented to the Copeland Occupational and Social Centre at Cleator Moor from the South West Cumberland Group of Masonic Lodges.
The group’s chairman Maurice Eilbeck said it was one of several donations being made to mark the 150th anniversary of the formation of the Masonic Province of Cumberland and Westmorland in 1860.
COSC provides day care for people with disabilities offering various activities of a social and occupational nature.
The donation will go towards renewing the kitchen facilities in the centre and providing special aids to improve cooking skills.
The South West Cumberland Group of lodges which includes Egremont, Cleator Moor, Wath Brow, Frizington and Millom, totals 12 and has already donated £10,000 to the First Responders.
